    A Boston native, Mark moved to Colorado in 2002, where he met life long companions in tequila and mezcal while bartending at Zolo, a bustling neighborhood tequila bar. He mixed his way through college attending the University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated with a BA in International Affairs. In late 2008, he opened the Bitter Bar, a world-class cocktail destination nestled at the foot the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado. At the Bitter Bar, he has groomed a team of award winning mixologists, and achieved a great deal of success at a young age. An attentive student of cocktail history, Mark creates drink menus that utilize fresh seasonal produce, innovative ingredients, and cutting edge techniques.

    Stoddard has won numerous cocktail competitions at the local, national, and international levels, recently taking 1st place at the coveted 42 Below Cocktail World Cup in New Zealand in 2010. His accolades have been featured in media outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Tasting Panel, Denver Post, Huffington Post, Imbibe Magazine, Class Magazine, and Bon Appetit to name a few.
    In 2012, Mark joined the Hendrick's team as U.S. Brand Ambassador and now traverses the vast western USA building awareness for the lovely gin.

  • Duties:  Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits.  Responsible for maintaining stock and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.  Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale. Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.  Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.  Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.  Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. 

  • Position provides courteous, professional preparation of beverages for guests and Beverage Servers. Prepares high quality beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic to order upon request. Takes orders and servers guests at bar according to Loews Standards and all Local and State legal guidelines. Monitors guest to ensure safety.
